The premier museum of its kind in the US, AMNH is home to extensive permanent and temporary exhibits that cover numerous scientific disciplines.  Museum highlights include the newly renovated dinosaur exhibit, the Hall of Asian Mammals (elephants, pandas, and tigers), the  Hall of African Mammals (more elephants, lions, leopards), Hall of Meteorites, Hall of Gems and Minerals, and the Hall of Ocean Life with its famous life-size blue whale model.  Recently restored world-class diaoramas appear throughout, placing animals in their natural habitat.  Temporary exhibitions change frequently, designed and inpsired by the AMNH’s full-time scientific staff.  The Rose Center for Earth and Space hosts daily shows on stellar and planetary topics.
