Battery Park

Battery Park

Hudson River between Whitehall Street and Third Place, NYC

At the tip of Manhattan, Battery Park boasts spectacular views of the lower Hudson River, New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and the Staten Island Ferry.  Carefully designed gardens hold interest along the 25 acres that includes Castle Clinton, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Irish Famine Memorial, and other points of interest.  Battery Park is now a vibrant and thriving neighborhood, originating as an extension to Manhattan Island and built from original World Trade Center excavation landfill in the ’70s and ’80s.  This is a fantastic destination for a leisurely walk, bike ride, lunch/dinner, and other activities.
