This fascinating work comes to Brooklyn Academy of Music from Cambridge’s American Repertory Theater and its artistic director Diane Paulus. Composer Matthew Aucoin uses the diaries of Walt Whitman to explore relationships. The story centers on the fraught relationship between Whitman and a young wounded soldier during the Civil War.
