Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

11 West 53rd Street, NYC

MoMA is one of the hottest NYC destinations these days, with its central location, beautiful building, eclectic crowd, dining options, and, of course, great modern art.  Developed by Abby Aldrich Rockefeller to address what she perceived as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s lack of interest in the contemporary art scene exploding just after the turn of the century, MoMA has a fantastic collection of twentieth century works and continues to advocate for contemporary artists with numerous and diverse exhibitions.  Both the MoMA store, and its dining options (The Modern & Terrace 5) are destinations as well.  If you are planning on multiple visits, look into a yearly membership for savings and convenience.
