Parsons Dance In a Two-Week Run at The Joyce

The Joyce Theater

175 Eighth Avenue New York, NY 10011

“This is a ‘dance your heart out’ (at all times, no excuses) kind of enterprise,” says The New York Times about Parsons Dance, who displays its blend of athleticism and stunning ensemble work in the New York premiere of David Parsons’ work created in partnership with Drexel University’s Expressive and Creative Interactive Technologies Center.  Inspired by the dynamics of robots in flight, the piece is set to a score by John Mackey.  Also on tap: Trey McIntyre’s Ma Maison, exploring the colorful world of Mardi Gras, with music by New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band; a world premiere by GenerationNOW fellow Omar Roman de Jesus; and Caught, the company’s signature stroboscopic solo.  Four family friendly matinees provide a special opportunity to meet the dancers. —Joyce
