Present Laughter with Kevin Kline

St. James Theatre

246 West 44th Street

Noel Coward’s totally-irresistible and semi-autobiographical comedy follows a self-obsessed actor in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Freely indulging his considerable appetite for wine, women and sleeping late, the theatre’s favorite leading man suddenly finds himself caught between fawning ingénues, crazed playwrights, secret trysts and unexpected twists.

Academy Award and two-time Tony Award-winner Kevin Kline makes his long awaited return to the Broadway stage following a decade-long absence to star in Noël Coward’s uproarious comedy Present Laughter. Joined by three-time Tony® and Emmy® Award nominee Kate Burton (“Scandal,” Grey’s Anatomy”), Tony Award® nominee Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), and Cobie Smulders (“How I Met Your Mother”), and directed by Tony-nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God), this strictly limited engagement marks Mr. Kline’s return to Broadway’s St. James Theatre, the site of his first Tony Award-winning turn in On the Twentieth Century.
