Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
The Guggenheim building is as much an attraction as the art it houses. Designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, this iconic structure on Fifth Avenue’s Museum Mile is a spiral of exhibition space overlooking a vast inner court that is itself lit by a large dome skylight. Small galleries feature the Guggenheim’s permanent collection while the main circular exhibition space is devoted to its carefully curated and often exciting exhibitions. Visit the gift shop and a small snack bar with nice views of the park.
