Summer on the Hudson, sponsored by the NYC Parks department, features an unbelievable number of special events and full day festivals for individuals, as well as the whole family.  By dividing up Riverside Park into sections, each area sponsors a whole range of performances and participatory activities to enhance your summer.  The areas are broken up as follows:

Riverside South: centers around Pier 1 at 70th and the Hudson River

Mid Riverside Park: spans from 89th Street (Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument Plaza, all the way to the Skate Parks @ 108th Street.

West Harlem Piers Park & Fort Washington Park: centers around 125th Street and Marginal Streets.

Through all these various venues, there will be live performances, dance sessions, karaoke, a silent disco, movies, series devoted to children, movement and wellness opportunities in the form of pilates, yoga and Tai Chi.  At FlyNYC, a kite festival for all ages, will offer kite-making kits and the opportunity to fly your masterpiece while listening to music throughout, and will culminate with the West Side County Fair, an urban interpretation of the “old-style county fair” on Sunday, September 4 (Labor Day Weekend) between 68th and 70th Streets.  There is also a cafe (Pier i Cafe) at 70th Street, along with restrooms.
