The Young Sphinx Virtuosi Play Music from Vivaldi to Jimmy Lopez at Carnegie

Young Detroit-based performers land at Stern Auditorium for a most interesting concert of string music. They make the New York premiere of the Carnegie Hall co-commission, Jimmy Lopez’s Guardian of the Horizon: Concerto Grosso for Violin, Cello, and Strings. The concert begins with Vivaldi’s energetic Concerto in B-flat Major for Violin, Cello, and Continuo, RV 547. Also on the program is Beethoven’s Grosse Fugue, Op. 133, Vaughan Williams’ Concerto Grosso, and Michael Abels’ Delights and Dances.
