In the Intense Now is a documentary essay that explores three pivotal events in the 1960s: the May ’68 uprisings in paris, the Prague Spring and subsequent Soviet takeover of Czechoslovakia, and Mao’s Cultural Revolution – all from a personal perspective that uses home movies and a bounty of archival footage. It’s a brilliant, moving film – political, intimate, poetically charged and provocative. This event is part of Carnegie Hall’s The ’60s: The Years that Changed America.
