Mostly Mozart Festival: A Little Night Music — Emanuel Ax, piano, at the Kaplan Penthouse

Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center

Lincoln Square, New York, NY 10023,

Emanuel Ax returns to the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse for another memorable late-night recital enhanced by complimentary wine and gorgeous views of New York’s sparkling skyline. Beginning with dreamy solo works by Debussy and Mozart, the program takes an enchanting turn when one of Mozart’s favorite instruments—the mysterious glass harmonica—arrives onstage. Ax will perform music by Mozart, Gershwin, and others with two of the world’s foremost glass harmonica players—Friedrich Heinrich Kern and Philipp Marguerre. — Lincoln Center

“Mr. Ax is a magnificent interpreter even at normal concert hall distances, but watching him work his magic at close quarters in the Kaplan Penthouse was a particular treat.”New York Times
