This quintessential NYCB program couples audience favorites with something new for a satisfyingly varied experience. Two fall premieres return, situated between masterpieces by our founding choreographers: Mozartiana’s prayerful opening will touch your spirit and its theme and variations will delight, and the expansive yet streamlined Glass Pieces quickens the tempo, propelling its dancers across the stage at an electrifying pace.
Mozartiana’s prayerful opening will touch your spirit and the upbeat theme and variations that follows builds to pure exhilaration.
Just one year after her choreographic introduction to NYCB audiences, Principal Dancer Lauren Lovette presented her second creation at the Company’s 2017 Fall Gala.
The first of two Justin Peck premieres during the 2017/18 Season took place at NYCB’s fall gala and marked his fifth time participating in the Company’s annual event that pairs choreographers with fashion designers.
Expansive in scope and streamlined in style, Glass Pieces captures the pulsating heartbeat of metropolitan life with its charged, urban choreography, concluding in a finale that propels the corps de ballet across the stage at an electrifying pace. —New York City Ballet
