Oratorio Society of New York Brings Powerful, Contemporary and Relative Works to Carnegie Hall

Click here for more information. One of New York’s favorite ensembles bring two important works to Carnegie Hall which speak to the contemporary American discourse. Pulitzer Prize winners Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell have created the oratorio, Sanctuary Road, an work based on the writings of underground railroad conductor William Still. We Are One by Juilliard faculty member Behzad Ranjbaran sets texts from different periods, cultures and languages that reflect on the human desire for mutual respect and peace. The work was commissioned in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Oratorio Society of New York presents the world premiere. Kent Tritle conducts with soprano Laquita Mitchell, mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, tenor Joshua Blue, baritone Malcolm J. Merriweather and bass Dashon Burton.
